Once an aerospace/mechanical engineering student, Gladys holds an interior design degree from Chicagos Harrington Institute. A solid technical foundation combined with her eye for detail allows Gladys to take her clients wish list and transform it into a beautiful living space that enhances their daily routines. Gladys values the creative process and collaboration between the client, designer, and other professionals, understanding that the best outcomes are the result of shared expertise in an environment of mutual respect. With this philosophy, Gladys launched Schanstra Interior Design in 2012 and has since designed projects ranging from powder rooms to whole house interiors (and consulted on exterior materials/design). Gladys is active in her local NKBA chapter and has volunteered as a board member since 2013, encouraging peers and students to grow and further their knowledge and experience in the industry. At the end of the day, people are what matters, Gladys says, and she takes this view whether dealing with clients, employees, or colleagues.
